PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of slippage of deterioration of durability in an automatic tensioner of an offset structure by suppressing suctioni'ng of moisture into a frictional part of a frictional plate caused by inclination of an arm. SOLUTION: Moisture content may be attached to an outer peripheral part of a frictional plate 5. In such a case, conventional suction preventive measure is not adopted, in other words, pumping action caused by offset arrangement of a tension pulley 3 is not adopted so as to prevent the moisture from being suctioned into a frictional portion between the frictional plate 5 and at least one of a boss part 21 and a frictional pressing plate 6. Even when the suction phenomenon of the moisture content occurs, the moisture content suctioned into the frictional part is discharged to the outside through water draining grooves 24, 25. It is thus possible to prevent slippage of the frictional plate 5.
