BACK LIGHT TYPE COLOR DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a color image with high brightness without using high response liquid crystal. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 5 is irradiated with respective primary color light rays from back side by a backlight 2. A panel driving means 7 supplies respective signals to signal lines and scanning lines of the liquid crystal panel 5 to sequentially drive scanning line pixel arrays. A backlight driving means 8 makes the corresponding primary light to be emitted in synchronization with the timing when the response of respective scanning line pixel arrays is ended. Since the backlight is turned on without waiting for the response of the scanning line pixel array for one screen, the brightness can be increased.
