PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect installing failure of a terminal metal fitting in such a pressure contact connector that the direction of laying electric wires crosses the direction of installing the terminal metal fitting in a housing. SOLUTION: A plurality of electric wires 25 are laid in such a manner that the length direction of the electric wires is generally orthogonal to the fixing direction of a pressure contact terminal metal fitting 30 on a laying face 13 of a housing 10, further a cover 40 is assembled for enveloping the laying face 13. The cover 40 is formed with walls 43 placed in a manner to partition off between the laying passages of the adjacent electric wires 25. When the pressure contact terminal metal fitting 30 fails to be fixed and a pressure contacting portion 33 penetrates into a wire-distribution area of the adjacent electric wires 25, the walls 43 interfere with the defective pressure contacting portion 33, resulting in detecting unusual situations.
