METHOD FOR APPLYING TIMING INFORMATION TO TITLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically apply highly precise timing information corresponding to the divided parts of a presentation unit title after division by reasoning by analogy timing information to be applied to one of the start point/end point of each presentation unit title after division based on timing information being a reference and character information. SOLUTION: Timing information to be applied to one of the start point/end point of each presentation unit title after division at appropriate parts is reasoned by analogy based on timing information being a reference and character information including the kind of characters, or the number of characters, or a pronunciation symbol column presented by each presentation unit title. Then, the timing information reasoned by analogy is automatically applied to each presentation unit title after the division of a title sentence text at appropriate parts. For example, in an automatic title program production system 11, a timing information applying part 27 is provided with a function for applying the timing information to the presentation unit title converted by a presentation unit title preparing part 35 by using a time code and pause point transmitted from a synchronization detecting device 15.
