PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation support device and an operation support device for refrigerator, which can easily return a push-out member to its origin, even when a power failure occurs or a fault occurs in a circuit without using any complicated motor driving circuit or position detecting means for the push-out member. SOLUTION: In an operation support device, which transmits the driving force of a motor 7 by means of a gear train and causes a push-out member 9 which can be brought into contact with an opening/closing member 4, such as the door, etc., of a household electrical appliance, etc., to make sliding operations through the gear train 8, the gear train is provided with an engaged/disengaged gear 12 which is engaged with an disengaged from the member 9 and has first and second sections 12a and 12b. Therefore, the operation of the opening/closing member 4 can be supported through sliding of the member 9 by engagement in the first section, and when the gear 12 further rotates and is disengaged from the member 9, the driving force of the motor 7 is not transmitted to the member 9. In addition, device is constituted such that the force form the member 9 is not transmitted from the gear 12 to the motor 7 side.
