PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method for the production of a polyimide optical waveguide which can be formed on any substrate. SOLUTION: By this method, an embedded polyimide optical waveguide is produced by laminating a desired substrate and a ridge waveguide with an adhesive as an upper clad having similar heat resistance as that of the substrate and having a lower refractive index than that of the core. By heat treating the upper clad layer which is the adhesive at a time when laser diodes, photodetectors or the like are mounted by soldering, a printed circuit board which mounts electric and optical elements is produced by a batch reflow method. |
