PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip inductor whose stray capacity and size can be reduced and which is suitable for elimination of high frequency noise. SOLUTION: A coil conductor 3 is buried in a ceramic sintered body 2 composed of magnetic material ceramic. The coil conductor 3 is wound along a direction connecting a first and a second end surfaces 2a, 2b of the ceramic sintered body 2. A first and a second external electrodes 4, 5 are formed only on the first and second end surfaces 2a, 2b, so as not to reach other surfaces of the ceramic sintered body 2.
