PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finish the heating and drying surely by judging the finish of drying of garbage and improve the mounting workability as well as the assembling workability of a heating means and a temperature detecting means, in a garbage treating device for treating waste such as garbage or the like through drying. SOLUTION: A heating means and a ventilating means 16 are provided in a garbage receiving vessel 1 at the upper part of the same to introduce outdoor air through a suction unit 10 and discharge vapor generated from the garbage 20 through a discharging unit 11, while a temperature in a garbage receiving vessel 1 is detected by a temperature detecting means 23. The heating means is constituted of a first heating means 22 for regulating a temperature by the output of the temperature detecting means 23, and a second heating means 22a operated continuously, while the drying treatment operation of the garbage 20 is controlled by deciding the finishing time of the drying treatment through the output of the temperature detecting means 23.
