PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce as much as possible influence exerted by the execution of calibration on printing, while maintaining print quality equal to or more than specified quality level in the case of performing the calibration that makes the print specification of a printer a prescribed one. SOLUTION: In the case this system decides that it is a timing for executing calibration before performing printing (S302), the system discriminates whether print data is made by monochromatic printing or color printing (S303). In the case of color printing in this decision, calibration is immediately executed (S305), and the printing is performed (S306). Meanwhile, in the case of monochrome printing in the decision, calibration is carried out (S308) after printing is performed (S306). Thus, it is possible to decide whether calibration is to be executed prior to printing, according to the extent of the necessity of calibration of an image to be printed.
