PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency lamp for an earthquake capable of immediately and automatically being turned on to illuminate the interior of a room when an earthquake occurs with such a strong shock as to cause a power failure. SOLUTION: This emergency lamp 1 for earthquake is equipped, in a hollow case 12, with a lamp 6, a power source 7 for an lighting the lamp, a shock detecting means 9 for detecting such a strong shock as to cause a power failure transmitted from a house by an earthquake, and a feeding means 8 for feeding the lamp 6 by the shock detection motion of the shock detecting means 9. The hollow case 12 is formed substantially into a spherical shape or an egg shape, the lamp 6 is disposed so that light is emitted from one end side 3a of the hollow case 12 while a weight body 11 is disposed on the other end side 2a of the hollow case 12, and the gravity center G of the whole body is biased toward the other end side 2a.
