The device for removing aerosol and suspended material from crankcase gases comprises a housing, inlet and outlet lines, a separating device, a flat element and a thermopipe. Device for removing aerosol and suspended material from crankcase gases which are fed to an air inlet collection line (10) comprises a housing (11) with a wall (12) defining an upper part (14) and a base (16) with run-offs (18,19,21), an inlet line (20) extending through the housing wall to connect to a crankcase, an outlet line (24) extending through the upper part to connect with an air inlet collection line, separating device (26) connected to the inlet line and having a screen (28) through which the gases pass and a collision plate (30) to limit the aerosol and the suspended material in the gases, a flat element (32) defining a spiral path from outside to the central chamber to carry the gases from the separating device to the central chamber, and a thermopipe (36) in the central chamber to receive the gases. An Independent claim is also included for a process for separating aerosol and suspended material from crankcase gases. Preferred Features: The device has a lid to close the upper part of the housing. The separating device is connected to a run-off to reduce suspended material which were separated from the gases.
