Optical plotter comprises a large number of supports (2a, 2b) and a corresponding large number of LEDs that are aligned in one or other direction. For every second support the alignment direction of the LEDs is reversed. The supports are directly connected together using a joining element (3). Independent claims are made for a procedure for adjusting the position of the optical plotter, a procedure for controlling the light emitting conditions of the plotter and an image generator or plotter using the optical plotter.
