The connecting rod has a base body (4) which is basically T-shaped. It has bearing points (1, 2, 3) at its end sectors and is made in one piece of a non-ferrous metal such as aluminum or magnesium. It may be produced by thixotropic casting. The cross section profile of the base body may be basically of double-T shape.
