The power plant has a water intake chamber formed by a concrete floor plate (1) with a sill body above it, a support wall (2) for an angled embankment, with stone covering (9), which may be planted (9a) to form an embankment, and a rake. The rake consists of a cross strut (3a) and horizontal bars (4). An emergency closure device (8) is placed in front of the intake, or a vertical wall (7) is positioned at the back of the embankment support wall. Whirl-generating tubes (5) are positioned in front of and behind the rake, and on the floor. The support wall is of sheet steel, the covering is a steel plate construction, and the sill body is a tube of plastic or steel.
