RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL CONTAINER

A container for radioactive material which provides protection against the egress of radiation and comprises applying by an electroplating process a layer of lead over a substantial proportion of a receptacle surface. Additional layers of cadmium and copper may be applied to the receptacle by electroplating to provide additional protection. A resilient layer such as an epoxy resin may also be applied to help maintain the structural integrity of the container or limit any leakage of radiation.
