The invention relates to a method for controlling a pre-charging pressure generator (3) of a vehicle brake system during the phases of regulation of a directional stability and/or traction control system that functions with the intervention of braking. According to the invention, the pre-charging pressure generator (3) is selectively activated during activation of a respective directional stability or traction control phase only if the conditions that are defined for the activation of the pre-charging pressure generator are fulfilled.
