<p>The present invention is a novel narrow band filter wherein the threshold is based on the internal energy of the tuned element. Subjecting the filter (300, 400) to an external waveform transmits the waveform energy to the tuned element. Whenever the internal energy of the tuned element (301, 302, 401, 402) exceeds the threshold, the filter discharges an output signal. Thereafter, the filter (300, 400) voids any internal energy remaining in the filter after discharge so that no internal energy present before the discharge corrupts subsequent measures of later energy influx. The filtering of the present invention may be accomplished through the use of software and/or hardware.</p> |
