<p>PALC display panel comprising a substrate (1) provided with channels (2) closed by a microsheet (4). The channels are provided with electrodes (6, 7) and filled with an ionizable gas. The display panel is further provided with a second glass plate (8) with transparent electrodes (9). The space (10) between the microsheet and the second glass plate is filled with a liquid crystal material. The lifetime of the display panel is improved by the application of a barrier layer (14) on the wall (5) of the channels between the electrodes. A barrier layer of a material is provided, which impedes transport of ions from the gas discharge to the wall of the channels.</p> |
