The wheel drive has a drive motor (1) driving a first planet stage (3) which drives an output via a second planet stage (7) and can be braked via a brake (10) that is connected in front of the second planet stage. The brake has an operating device which in the pressure-free state of a first part (22) of the operating device closes the brake and by the application of pressure of a first part of the operating device, opens the brake. Furthermore, by application of pressure of a second part (25) of the operating device, it closes the brake.
