<p>An exercise machine (10) has an operator position (11) and preferably two movable handles (16, 17), a transmission system (18 to 23) connected to the handles (16, 17) and a motion resistance arrangement (24) drivingly connected to the transmission system (18 to 23), whereby movement of the handles (16, 17) is transmitted by the transmission system (18 to 23) to cause movement of the resistance arrangement (24). The position of the handles (16, 17) is adjustable relative to the operator position (11) and the transmission system (18 to 23). Preferably, the motion of the handles (16, 17) is rotational, and the plane of rotation of each handle (16, 17) is adjustable. In addition, the position of the handles (16, 17) relative to each other, and the radius of rotation of the handles (16, 17), are adjustable. A single machine (10) provides that movement of the handles (16, 17) is effected by differing motions performed by the operator to facilitate the performance of differing exercises.</p> |
