[Class 142(i)] A weft stop-motion comprises a member A mounted on the sley, which is moved by a connection from the centre weft fork, when no weft is presented to it, to actuate a knock-off lever B, when the sley moves forward, an abutment B<SP>3</SP> on the lever B actuating a bell-crank lever C to disengage the spring handle D from its notch to disconnect the drive to the loom. and a tailpiece B' on the lever B engaging an abutment F on a brake rod E to move the latter in an endwise direction and tighten a brake band E' around a drum E' to stop the loom. The forward end of the brake rod E is spring-supported and has fixed to it a block G through which passes a brakerelease rod H that is fixed in the block G and is provided with a collar H<SP>2</SP> to limit its upward movement, release of the brake being effected by depressing the rod H until the abutment F moves below the tailpiece B', when a spring E<SP>6</SP> releases the brake. Fixed on the rod E is a further block S which causes the brake to be automatically released when it engages a stop R<SP>1</SP>.</p> |
