The opposite sides of an opening (14) in the front of a cassette case (10a) are formed with tape guides (18) each having a guide surface (18a), and in the opening (14) a magnetic tape (T) is stretched between the guide surfaces (18a). The back (18b) of the guide surface (18a) of the tape guide (18) is formed with a cam groove (26) for guiding an opening/closing lid (320) covering the stretched magnetic tape (T). Provided below the back (18b) and rearwardly of the cam groove (26) is a projection (28) having a position detecting hole (28a). Sink preventing recesses are provided only in two places, one located forwardly of the cam groove (26) of the back (18b) and the other located rearwardly of the cam groove (26) of the back (18b) and above the projection (28).
