Lift has rotatable stop mounted on cabin and secured on shaft for turning from inoperative position into operating position for engagement with stop fixed in lift well when cabin stops opposite to story landing and cabin floor is lower than landing, at a distance from landing close to maximum tolerable distance. Shaft mentioned above is installed on support mounted on cabin for turning around horizontal axis and coupled with arresters engagement mechanism.
