The aim of the invention is to be able to transport, in a simple manner, gravure paper rolls having widths greater than 260 cm in standardized freigh t containers while utilizing, to the greatest possible extent, the cargo space available therein. To this end, the invention provides a freight system characterized in that it can be used in a conventional standardized containe r (1) which can be placed both on a land vehicle as well as on a ship and whic h is provided for accommodating gravure paper rolls (2, 3), whereby each gravu re paper roll (2, 3) is horizontally laid on an individual loading stand (4, 5) and two parallelly adjacent gravure paper rolls (2, 3) are stored such that they are offset with regard to one another in the heights thereof, i.e. stor ed such that they are diagonal to one another.
