The method involves the use of measurement data acquired during a communications phase. Measurement data available to the mobile station are combined with location information and the combined information is passed to a network element tied to the fixed network infrastructure at a suitable interface for evaluation. Independent claims are also included for a method of locating a mobile radio station without GPS and for a method of supporting the location of a station.
