The invention relates to a device for lifting and moving loads, which device comprises a frame which includes a connecting element (18) for connecting the device to a crane or the like, two clamping elements(1,2), which can be pressed against opposed sides of a load (54), and at least one catching element (46,47), which can be moved with respect to the other part of the frame, by means of at least one setting cylinder (38,39) to be operated by means of a pressurized fluid, between a first position, in which the catching element (46,47) extends at least partially under a load (54) clamped between the clamping elements (1,2), and a second position, in which the catching element (46,47) is positioned beside the load (54). The device further includes a fluid pump (20) comprising a cylinder (21) and a piston (23) which is movable within said cylinder (21). The fluid pump (20) is mounted between the coupling element and the frame of the device, wherein the fluid pump (20) carries out a stroke when the device is being lifted up.
