The earth cover for a grave consists of a perforated flat cover plate (11) sprinkled on top with earth, gravel and/or decorative material. The plate is rimmed all round (13) to form a trough on this one face and has feet (27) on one face also and is made of non-rotting stainless material. The plate is additionaly divided (17,18) on its upper surface to give two or more separate sectors (19,20,21) to be filled with different materials and is inserted in a grave surround and there fixed in place. The plate can serve as the sole cover for the grave.
