The invention relates to a box-type furniture element. Furniture elements that have a rigid back wall or a stabilizing cruciform support structure which may equally absorb tensile forces and forces of pressure can often only be disassembled using tools. The novel box-type furniture element requires no wood joints, no adhesive whatsoever, and, depending on the design, no fittings. A rope-type bracing system provides said functions and also the stiffening. A shelf can thus be provided with lamps if the rope-type bracing system consists of a electroconductive material. The furniture element can be assembled and disassembled without using tools. The box-type furniture element consists of at least two walls (83, 84) that are spaced apart by spacers (85, 87, 91). Said spacers between the walls are subjected to a pressure which is produced by a rope-type bracing system (82) that responds only to a tensile force. Said wire-system (82) provides the stiffening (82, 86, 90) and at the same time the areas of support (82, 88, 89) for the spacers (85, 87, 91). The box-type furniture element is suitable for domestic use, for fair construction, shop fitting and stock keeping. |
