The holder (1) is for a tank cap with a threaded part to screw into the tank filling neck. The holder has a carrier sector (2), and the reverse side (3) of which there is a fixing device (5) by which the holder can be fitted to a vehicle after manufacture. On the front side (4), there is a receiver device (6) to take the threaded part of the cap.
