METHOD FOR MAKING FLOAT GLASS, IMPLEMENTING DEVICE AND RESULTING PRODUCTS

The invention concerns a float glass process for making glass sheets which consists in pouring molten glass on a liquid support denser than glass, then in moving forward downstream the continuous ribbon which is formed. The method is characterised in that it consists in continuously cutting the edges with excess thickness of the ribbon in the forming zone. Said device enables to obtain thin glass sheets, such as film-like glass sheets, with good planarity, in particular in small installations. The invention also concerns a device for implementing said method and the resulting products.
