Each lock is fitted with a servo motor which drives a slider (20 to operate on the catches which open and close the lock. The catches are fitted with tags which run in guides (46a) in the sides of the lock housing to control the engagement and disengagement of the lock mechanism and the slider. This ensures that the lock catches are out of contact with the servo slider at each end of the movement, allowing the lock to be operated manually. The guide slots run parallel to the slider direction and have angled edges at the points of engagement/disengagement of the lock mechanism. The lock mechanism has catch levers with hooked ends to grip the servo slider. The catch levers are spring loaded into the engagement position.
