<p>An assembly of sliders (10) for zippers (12) for plastic bags (36) and the like and the accumulation of the sliders (10) for use in form, fill and seal machines (26) is disclosed. The sliders (10) are oriented and mechanically or adhesively joined into chains (52). Mechanical assembly of sliders (10) may be accomplished by snapping sliders (10) together or slideably mounting sliders (10) on a strip (96). Sliders (10) may be adhesively assembled together by taping (60), welding, gluing, or melting the sliders (10). Sliders (10) and chains (52) of sliders (10) are accumulated in cartridges (102, 110), carriers, coreless rolls (116), spools (114, 122) or trays which are then connected to form, fill and seal machines (26) for attachment of the sliders (10) to a zipper (12) and attachment of the zipper (12) with a slider (10) to bags (36).</p> |
