A stackable case (10) for retaining and transporting containers includes out er side walls (16) forming an outer shell, a bottom panel disposed substantiall y within the outer shell, and a plurality of supports (30) for supporting the outer surface of the containers. The side walls (16) include a lower wall portion and a plurality of spaced upwardly projecting pylons (48), where fou r corner pylons define the four corner of the case. At least one upwardly projecting column (52) is generally disposed within the outer shell, and defines, in combination with the bottom panel, the side walls (16) and the e nd walls (12), a plurality of container retaining pockets. The columns (3-2) an d the pylons (48) extend above the lower wall portions. One or more retention members are also provided on the inner wall surfaces of the case in order to securely retain the container in the case during transport and storage.</SDO AB>
