<p>A specified network having a plurality of apparatuses hooked up thereto, wherein a first processing is performed which sends a command for inquiring a unit type or a sub-unit type from a specified apparatus connected to the network to a destination connected via a network, a second processing is performed which sends a command corresponding to a type determined from the response obtained in the first processing, and a third processing is performed which specifies a type of an apparatus based on the response obtained in the second processing, whereby a command corresponding to a type of each apparatus is used to be able to accurately specify a type of a connected apparatus.</p> |
