A liner assembly (L) for structurally reinforcing a manhole or passage (M) comprises a multiple-ply (10, 12, 14), generally cylindrical tube. The outermost ply (10) includes inner and outer surfaces and is adapted for being impregnated with material for rigidifying and bonding the outer surface of the outermost ply (10) to a manhole or passage (M). The innermost ply (14) includes inner and outer surfaces and is adapted for being impregnated with a material for rigidifying the innermost ply. An impermeable ply (12) is disposed between the innermost (14) and outermost ply (10) and includes an impermeable membrane (12a) having fibers impregnated on its inner and outer surfaces. The fibers of the inner surface (12c) of the impermeable ply bond with the epoxy impregnated outer surface of the innermost ply (14). Likewise, the fibers of the outer surface (12b) of the impermeable ply bond with the epoxy impregnated inner surface of the outermost ply (10). |
