To this end, the information carrier of the present invention for carrying out monetary payments includes an information storage system which is arranged in a body and which is used for storing and/or reading information. The information storage system is made in the form of a flexible magnetic disk with a body comprising an opening for recording and/or reading information onto and/or from said flexible magnetic disk. The disk is designed so that it is possible to record a nominal value thereon and to modify said nominal value in an authorised manner.
