PURPOSE: LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to display NTSC(National Television System Committee) image information and character information which are divided in a horizontal direction, on a screen. CONSTITUTION: LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a decoder(10), a switching part(20), a timing controller(30), a data overlapping part(40), and a display driver(50). The decoder decodes a hybrid image signal, and outputs analog RGB data signal. The switching part switches the analog RGB data signal. The timing controller turns on the switching part according to a screen division mode signal, generates a data masking signal, and generates a horizontal starting signal on the basis of the hybrid image signal. The data overlapping part overlaps the analog RGB data signal with the external input character signal according to the data masking signal generated from the timing controller, and generates an overlapping data signal. The display driver divides a screen of the TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) panel in a horizontal direction on the basis of a horizontal starting signal of the timing controller, and displays character information and a video signal.
