PURPOSE: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube is provided to uniformly form an electron beam by reducing the distortion due to a deflection magnetic field according to deflection of the electron beam. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube comprises a first electrode(21), a second electrode(22), and a third electrode(23). The first electrode is formed with three longitudinal type electron beam penetrating holes. An alternating voltage or a static voltage is applied to the first electrode. The second electrode is installed at one side of the first electrode. The second electrode is formed with a circular electron beam penetrating hole. The third electrode is installed at the other side of the first electrode. The third electrode is formed with one lateral type electron beam penetrating hole.
