PURPOSE: A health food beverage containing an extract from prickly pear that has various of nutrients and medical effects with maintaining the original taste of soft drink or alcoholic drinks is provided. CONSTITUTION: The health food beverage contains 0.1-20wt% of an extract from the prickly pear produced by compressing with heating the fruit part of cactus at 110-125°C for 2-4hours in a high pressure heater without an extraction solvent. One more of an extract from the leaves of the cactus, vitamin C or Oligosaccharide can be added to the drink.
