Divided open-sea vessels concern the shipbuilding sector, the field of safety of shipping and the saving of life at sea, the field of financing of ships and the ship owning and operating sector. The divided open-sea ship is characterised by two moving elements, one part, not self- propelled, for carrying out transport and other work and one self-propelled part for performing the task of propulsion, steering and housing the crew, jointed in such a way that should a reason for the separation of the elements arise either because of danger, when safety is improved, or for technical, functional or operational grounds, when operation is improved, they can come apart. Furthermore, due to the autonomy of the elements as independent vessels, their financing is facilitated due to separate legal, property, investment, credit and ownership regimes for each separately. The advantage of the divided open-sea ship over the non-divided vessels seen in the present state of the art is that the divided open-sea ship ensures, foremost, safety together with economy of resources and activity with the autonomous engagement/employment of the parts. |
