PURPOSE: A method and a device for diving a CD(Compact Disk), are provided to enable a user to control a CD driving motor and to simultaneously enable a pickup actuator to be automatically controlled, so as to reproduce CD information at a desired speed. CONSTITUTION: A CDP(Compact Disk Player) is operated, to read data from an optical pickup unit(100) for outputting, according to a rotation speed of a normally set disk motor(90). If a user operates a jog dial(70) to regulate a tempo of a sound outputted in the CD, a microcomputer(20) discriminates the acceleration/deceleration of the rotation of the jog dial(70), to change the rotation speed of the disk motor(90). If the jog dial(70) is regularly rotated, a rotation angle of the jog dial(70) is detected, to output a regular rotation speed signal of the disk motor(90) and make the disk motor(90) rotate at a high speed. If the jog dial(70) is rotated to be decelerated, a rotation angle of the jog dial(70) is detected, to output a deceleration rotation speed signal of the disk motor(90) and make the disk motor(90) rotate at a deceleration speed.
