METHOD FOR PROCESSING SOFT HAND-OFF IN ASYNCHRONOUS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for processing a soft hand-off in an asynchronous system is provided to perform the soft hand-off without a loss of data by efficiently synchronizing each base station in the asynchronous system. CONSTITUTION: If a mobile terminal located within a region of a first base station is moved to a second base station during a talk, the mobile terminal transmits a hand-off request signal and information regarding the second base station to the second base station through the first base station and a base station controller and the mobile terminal calculates a difference of a PN roll interval between first and second base stations for synchronizing the first base station and the second station to transmit the calculated difference. The second base station allocates a channel of the mobile terminal and shifts a signal channel and a traffic channel except for a pilot channel within the allocated channel according to the difference of the PN roll interval to synchronize the signal channel and the traffic channel of the first base station. The mobile terminal shifts a finger corresponding to the second base station according to the difference of the PN roll interval to synchronize the finger with a finger to the first base station.
