<p>A one piece hot air staking device comprises a hot air supply 17 directed onto the stud 12 and cold forming tool 8 mounted within the tool body 2. The form tool will form the malleable stud into a fastening and hold until firm. The stud may take the image of the tool which may be variable and interchangeable. A pneumatic cylinder 1 may be provided to actuate the form tool which may be attached to cylinder rod 3 by tool guide 6 and adjustable locknut 5. The hot air may be delivered through tube 16 which may be insulated 15. The delivery shroud 11 may distribute the hot air around the stake. The form tool 8 may be kept cool by fins 7, the venturi action at 13 which may draw fresh air in through holes 9 and reduced body wall thickness at 14 to minimise heat transfer.</p> |
