PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel using high frequency is provided to make a uniform wall charge quantity in address period, and prevent image distortion because of a stable and uniform high frequency discharge. CONSTITUTION: The method for driving a plasma display panel includes a reset step, address step, and a sustain step. A reset step initializes overall discharge cells(28,34) made on a panel, and leaves a uniform wall charge. The address step selects the discharge cells by using a scanning voltage and a data voltage applied on the uniform wall charge. The sustain step generates high frequency discharge by using a microwave voltage and the wall charge. The reset step generates at least one discharge in order to form a uniform wall charge on the overall discharge cell, and removes a wall charge, and leaves a wall charge of a predetermined quantity. Thereby, a uniform wall charge is formed in address period, and image distortion is prevented because of a stable and uniform high frequency discharge. |
