PURPOSE: A method for confirming and acquiring frame synchronization using an optimum pilot symbol is provided to confirm and obtain frame synchronization using an optimum pilot symbol pattern in the W-CDMA advanced mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: A network side confirms chip synchronization failure in a chip and frame synchronization mode and acquires initial chip and frame synchronization. The network side receives a frame offset group and a slot offset group from a user equipment to obtain the initial chip and frame synchronization of an upward link channel based on frame offset information and slot offset information informed from the user equipment. Using a pilot bit pattern proposed in a frame synchronization confirmation mode, the network side continually confirms whether frame synchronization fails to fit. In case that chip synchronization is obtained but frame synchronization fails to fit in the frame synchronization confirmation mode, the network side obtains final frame synchronization using a pilot bit pattern in the chip and frame synchronization mode and an independent frame synchronization mode. |
