PURPOSE: A method for managing memory of a printer is provided to variably apply the size of memory storing print data for reprinting according to the residual level of ink or toner. CONSTITUTION: A method for managing a memory of a printer storing print data received from the outside in a predetermined area of a memory, wherein the method for managing the memory of the printer includes the steps of checking the remaining amount of the toner recording the print data to a paper with printing the print data(S242), detecting the assignment size of preliminary set memory corresponding to the checked remaining amount of the toner, and assigning the detected size of the memory to the area in which the print data stored for printing again if the assignment size of the memory is detected(S244).
