PURPOSE: An auxiliary light source for reflection type liquid crystal display is provided to improve a picture quality by enhancing the uniformity and the incident efficiency of light beam. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary light source for reflection type liquid crystal display comprises a light source(52), a light guide plate(56), a light source reflective mirror(54), and a reflective plate(58). The light source emits a light beam. The light guide plate transmits the light beam to a display face of a reflection type liquid crystal panel. The light source reflective mirror reflects the light beam emitted from the light source to the light guide plate. The reflective plate prevents the leakage of the light beam of the light guide plate.
