PURPOSE: A neck welding apparatus for a CRT is provided to enhance acid-proof property and cleanness of a welded part of a funnel and a neck by injecting liquid natural gas and methylborate and heating to restrict the expansion of glass according to the heating. CONSTITUTION: A neck welding apparatus of the invention has a funnel settling section, a neck transport section for transporting a neck to be welded to a free end of the funnel, a burner for heating the contacting part of the neck and the funnel, and a fuel gas supply for supplying fuel gas to the burner. A fuel gas branch pipe(29) is provided to lead a portion of the fuel gas supplied to the burner. A cleaning agent mixing section(21) is provided to be supplied with the fuel gas led through the fuel gas branch pipe, and then mixes the fuel gas with the cleaning agent to supply to the burner.
