PURPOSE: An inverter protector of blushless DC motor is provided to sense the overload and arm short status of an inverter unit to block switching signals to the inverter unit, thereby protecting IGBT(isolation gate bipolar transistor) consisting the inverter unit. CONSTITUTION: An inverter protector of blushless DC motor comprises an inverter unit(2), a motor unit(3), a gate driver unit(7), first to third resistors(R1-R3), an overload detector unit(4), an arm short detector unit(5) and a micom(6). The resistor(R1) is connected to respective emitter of IGBT(T2,T4,T6) and a power supply(1). The resistor(R2) is serially connected to an IGBT(T1). The resistor(R3) is serially connected to the IGBT(T4). The overload detector unit(4) decides overload status in accordance with the voltage drop level of the resistor(R1). The arm short detector unit(5) decides arm short status in accordance with the voltage drop level of the resistors(R2,R3).
