PURPOSE: A method for operating communication in the IMT-2000 relates to a method to operate the communication of an RRC(Radio Resource Control layer) in a telecommunication system suitable to support a universal mobile telecommunication system. CONSTITUTION: An RRC(10) is formed between an upper layer, such as a call control entity, a mobility management entity, a radio resource management entity, etc., and a lower layer composed of a physical layer(40), a medium access control layer(30) and an RLC(Radio Link Control layer)(200). The RRC(10) is composed of a BCE(Broadcast Control Entity)(11), a PNCE(Paging and Notification Control Entity)(12), a DCE(Dedicated Control Entity)(13) and a TME(Transfer Mode Entity)(14). The BCE(11) controls broadcast information provided from an access stratum or a non access stratum. The PNCE(12) provides paging and notification information by the upper layer. The DCE(13) provides a setup/release service for the connection and transmission of an upper layer message. The TME(14) maps the BCE(11), the PNCE(12) and the DCE(13) with an access point of an RLC(Radio Link Control layer)(200). |
